The sampler lent itself to great ideas as Laura Jean discovered. You can get the free patterns for the Stitch Along Here.

While watching TV, she noticed there was an afghan on the back of the sofa on the TV Show, Young Sheldon. So with the inspiration in mind, she developed Sheldon Sq'd.

The pattern is free to download at your convenience. You can make the squares and whip-stitch them together. Have fun with the colours.

Hey Mikey! I just discovered your how-to video for the square filet crochet pattern creation based on the blanket in the Young Sheldon TV series. It is spot on & really like. Unfortunately both of the suggested yarns make a square that appears to be significantly larger than the actual blanket as it appears in the show. Season 1 episode 14 shows child Sheldon sitting on the blanket, which gives perspective to the square sizes, which appear to be the same length as the child size short sleeve shirt sleeve he is wearing. What yarn would you recommend from the Yarnspiration line for making the square that would have similar colors available for a reasonable facsimile & make the square smaller using as the pattern instructions as written? Thanks!

You may have to reduce your hook down but without knowing how big the squares truly are, I really don't know. You may be looking for possibly Caron Simply Soft that is on the thinner side of #4. With reducing the hook and using Caron Simply Soft, you'll be able to reduce the size. Will be easier for you to look through the Catalogue of Caron Simply Soft as the link I am providing here to see if there are colours you prefer. https://www.yarnspirations.com/en-ca/products/caron-simply-soft-yarn?utm_campaign=2023_08_17_Caron_Simply_Soft_Yarn&utm_medium=blog&utm_source=Influencer_TCC

Best wishes and happy new year.

Watching the show now and a close-up of the blanket has no bobbles, just chain spaces where the bobbles in the pattern are.

The rows that are bobble/popcorn in the pattern are actually ch 1- sk 1 spaces. I have a screenshot of it but I can’t attach it.

I can take a screen shot at [email protected]. I'll check the video tutorial and the pattern to make sure it's aligned. First I am hearing the video tutorial isn't matching the pattern.

I am making this afghan using 3 different colors. Do you have a diagram of a good layout for 3 colors? Thoroughly enjoying the pattern - looks intricate yet it is so simple!

      I don't I'm sorry. It was crocheted as a 1 colour square.
